Join Takamine at the 2025 National Cherry Blossom Festival

History and beauty are on full display when Washington, D.C.’s storied cherry blossom trees bloom each spring. With those trees playing such an integral part in the Takamine story, we are excited to join the celebration at this year’s National Cherry Blossom Festival.

In 1912, just over two decades after using koji spores to create a maltless whiskey in an Illinois distillery, renowned chemist and philanthropist Dr. Jokichi Takamine arranged the donation of thousands of cherry blossom trees to Washington, D.C., to symbolize the friendship between Japan and the United States.

During the festival, we will celebrate Dr. Takamine’s legacy of innovation and generosity with an exclusive tasting experience as our koji-fermented whiskey.

Crafted with traditional koji fermentation, double pot distilling, and aging in American white oak, our Takamine 8-year Japanese whiskey features a rich umami character and delicate sweetness made possible by the patented Takamine Process.

Whether you're a history buff or simply reveling in the natural beauty of springtime in the nation’s capital, visit us during the festival to savor the Japanese whiskey with a classic American story.
